Key Advantages Of LED Streetlights

Jul 15, 2026 Leave a message

From a technical standpoint, the core advantage of LED streetlights lies in their luminous efficacy. While traditional high-pressure sodium lamps offer an efficacy of approximately 100 lm/W, LED streetlights can achieve 150–200 lm/W, resulting in a 30%–50% reduction in energy consumption for the same level of brightness.

Furthermore, LED light sources boast a lifespan of 50,000 to 80,000 hours-five to ten times that of sodium lamps-thereby significantly lowering maintenance costs. In terms of construction, high-quality LED streetlights typically feature bodies made of galvanized steel or aluminum alloy paired with polycarbonate (PC) covers; this design ensures an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, enabling reliable operation in extreme environments ranging from -40°C to 60°C.
